What do you need to do to become a paramedic?

There are three stages to this. First, you take an EMT basic class and successfully pass it. My boyfriend took one and it's really hard! The hands-on part went well but the national registry exam is tough. Then you do the same thing for the intermediate class and then the paramedic class.
