How to work in an ice cream shop without getting injured?

I had to quit my ice cream scooping job because I stress-fractured my hand. If it weren't for that I would have stayed because I enjoy it so much and am so sad to not be able to do it anymore. I'm a very petite, thin-boned person; is there any hope of me ever being able to do this job again without hurting myself further?
