I feel kind of bad now...?

So there's this new guy at school that EVERYONE I know likes (including my best friend and I). He's beyond hot (obviously) and he's considered a "popular". He's on facebook and I requested him as a friend. My best friend was texting me and I said I really like him and she said me too! Then we were talking about how amazing he is and I said I call dibs. She said fine. Then I said well r u sure I don't want to be like that if u really like him and she said he's all yours. Should I take that and talk to him and maybe date him or let her? Oh and she just got out of a relationship. So did I. What do I do?
